Just wrapped up.this replacement section of hand rail in fed hill. The original.was removed many many years ago and all of the parts had been unfortunately lost. Another person tried to replace it and stopped where it got tricky I suppose. Among the problems were mismatched and incorrect balusters, replaced existing rail set at the incorrect height, a very loose wobbly 1st floor run, and nothing to go from. So I did the best I could matching in color and profiles and had to match the few balusters I needed to the mismatched existing ones. It worked out ok. Id like to do another to apply what I learned on this one..Lots of rasp, spoke shave, carving with thw grinder. Pretty fun. Check it out.
